Run Like a Viking 2025 T-shirt Design

I worked with the National Nordic Museum Development team to design the Run Like a Viking T-shirt for the 2025 fundraiser.

After exploring iconic symbols of Vikings and Nordic history, I decided to combine two: the herring and the Viking ship. It's also a very Ballard pairing, with our shipyards, salmon, and seafood. 

I like to put a little humor into what I make, so of course, the herring are the Vikings in this ship — though there is a herring looking back up at the others from the water in confusion.
